Multifuncional printers
I have a similar situation but the printer is a Samsung SCX-4200 instead.
I guess there's no way to get scanning up and running without a compatible driver installed on bubba, and in my case Samsung do provide one but unfortunately not for the PPC platform.
Could there perhaps be generic drivers available to try with?

I just read on internet that my printer (HP DJ F2180) works on Linux also with scanning features.
But of course it seems that there should be some additional software...
The problem could be how to bring that scanning feature to other networked PCs.

Hopefuly it could help, but my device was not in the list.
Also it seems that to go thought that manual will take some time - probably will take them later.
Anyway it seems to be good feature reqest for Bubba.
