I've too have updated my bootloader, and my B2 have been up for 6 days whiteout glitches, even though I've been copying lots of big files on daily base.

Thanks for supplying a patch so fast.

First issue: Downloading from the Bubba 2 is very slow, around 30 kbps. (To another computer on the LAN)

Is what my smdb log is saying. Don't understand a word.

Second and probably related issue:
Bubba is choking internet bandwidth by 90% to the computers on my LAN. Bypassing B2 gives 17 Mbps, with it I get 1.4 Mbps. (Upstream is working ok, I get same with or without B2.)

This would be quite important to me to get a fix to...

Have you been editing the config files with a Windows editor?

ERROR: Badly formed boolean in configuration file: "yes # new line".

Indicates an (typo?) error in the config file.
Look in /etc/samba/smb.conf and re-check, also the end-of-lines (!)

BTW: Google gives about 9000 hits on exactly this message.

II.

Do you have printing en-of disabled in webinterface (admin) ?

If off, it's not surprising that there is a refused connection to cups.

III.

If perfomance is abnormally slow, first check how your Bubba is running (use top). Look for excessive memory or cpu usage.

Hape, thanks for your reply!

1. Nope, only used Putty to edit files (nano).

2. Yes, printing is off.

3. Top indicates no high load what so ever. (A few % on mysql, that's the highest.)

4. When using putty and trying to access Bubba externally through <myname>.bubbaserver.com yields incorrect password. When going thru LAN it works ok with same user. (WAN access enabled.)
Any ideas why this is so?

Hi,

Your easyfind name only works with web-protocols (http/https) not ssh.
In order to access bubba, use a browser to find the IP, and then use putty (ssh) to that IP.

What about the seriously malfunctioning fw/router thing? Why is the box strangling my broadband like that, very, very unsatisfactory.

Since you now have ssh access, can you post the output of the command

/sbin/ifconfig

You might want to edit out your external IP, since this is not relevant for the rest of the config.

What has been seen is that some cable/adsl modems report a faulty MTU setting, and we adapt the network settings to what is reported to us.
If this is incorrect, ignoring this setting will probably get your speed back.

Are you running a wired or wireless network?

If it is wireless, do you have the possibility to test with a wired connection, just trying to pinpoint if it is the combination with wireless that is causing your problems.

No, wired.

Bubba --> cat5 --> switch.

The switch has a Cisco 1200 connected to it, so I get wireless capability for other computers on the network.

Can you from command line run:

This will download the manual for "Bubba Server" ~3MB.

The purpose of this is to see if it is the uplink from Bubba that is slow, or if it is the routing that is causing your problems.

Can you post the output of the above command?

So it was quick.
Did a tptest and got 2.00 Mbit downstream and 1.86 Mbit upstream.
So it's just downstream that's not up to par, should be 15, give or take.
