horde email

Post by Bahurim »

I have setup my bubba to check my 3 email accounts at different sites (gmail, yahoo, & cox.net). Upon checking the mail.log it is now seeing all these but it only pulled down the messages from cox.net and not the others. Fetchmail says it "sees" these messages but does not forward them to bubba.localhost like it did for the cox.net messages.

Any ideas what is wrong? Did I set something up wrong?

Here are some snippits of mail.log without email addy's.

Looks like you have the option "keep" on, or that's the default -- instead of "nokeep". If you have "keep" set, then the messages will be downloaded, but will remain on the server. Fetchmail keeps track of what it has downloaded and will only acknowledge (such as in your log) that those files are still on the server.

I suggest watching the log and sending yourself a new email at those addresses to see it pulled down.

Thanks for the info, I am new at this fetchmail thing.

I did some searching and found that if you have read a message already then fetchmail will not download it. You then have 2 choices - either force download by 'fetchmail -a -k' or you can cheat like I did and mark all your messages unread. Then it will d/l them, which it has done for me now.
