Squeezecenter problems

Post by Krister »

Hi,

I have (successfully) installed squeezecenter but the server will not start properly.

The log file (/var/log/squeezecenter/server.log) only says:

2009-12-09 09:04:00 squeezecenter_safe started.
2009-12-09 09:04:09 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.
2009-12-09 09:04:17 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.
2009-12-09 09:04:25 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.
2009-12-09 09:04:32 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.
2009-12-09 09:04:40 SqueezeCenter died. Restarting.

and so on..

Any ideas?

I bought myself a Squeezebox radio yesterday and discovered the same thing.
Take a look at the last page of this post http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1826 .
That will give you some help.

To summarize what's said in the post:
  • Uninstall squeezecenter
  • Install the packages: libexporter-lite-perl , libtie-ixhash-perl , libtemplate-perl , libtemplate-plugin-class-perl
  • Reinstall squeezecenter
  • Start squeezecenter

I'm gonna upload a new version of squeezecenter with the dependencies specified.

Even though it was turned off everywhere i could find, I kept seeing squeezecenter running every morning, chewing up 100% of my CPU, so I removed and purged all configs, databases etc as I don't use it.

Are the configs fixed now, so that I can risk re-installing it?

Looks like this is still a problem. System appears to be constantly rescanning for changes in my music directory, so constantly using 100% CPU.

Time to remove squeezecenter again
