I am currently using Scenario 4: Internet -> Bubba -> Router -> PCs, where Bubba acts as Firewall and DCHP server.
I connect to the internet via an ADSL (PPPoE) connection. My Internet (browsing etc.) has always been very fast and responsive, but after placing Bubba between the internet and my router, browsing has become "laggy".
The "looking up http://www.asdfasf.com" part of browsing lasts noticeably longer than it used to. However, online dsl-speedtest yield a perfect score.
( I set it up as follows 1) install/configure pppoe, 2) replace all eth0 -> ppp0 in etc/network/firewall.conf )
* I would be interested to know if anyone else has made similar experiences?
* Is there a way to speed up/tweek the settings?
Also the Bubba Lan/Firewall-GUI does not recognize this setup as a valid "WAN", and hence no further configuration over the GUI is possible (locked).
* How can I unlock the GUI? (Which check is made?)
Does replacing all eth0 -> ppp0 in /etc help?
