Using the real upstream instead of Excito's stale upstream?

I am wondering how big a disaster it would result in on my B3 if I prioritized the real upstream squeeze repository instead of Excito's snapshot copy of it? They are essentially the same, aren't they? I mean in the sense that they contain the same files, only fresher in the debian.org archive. Or does the repository "deb http://b3.update.excito.org/ upstream_squeeze main" contain modifications by Excito?
The reason I am asking is that the Excito snapshot feels "so last season" and contains broken package dependencies.
