Last night I click on the update button on my B3 (from the admin webpage) and was surprised to see quite a major upgrade download and install. Everying downloaded and installed but the "verifying post upgrade system integrity" will not complete. I left it several hours and it caused my B3 to lock-up.
After a reboot I noticed that the admin webpage showed that the upgrade was successful:
bubba 2.3.0.2
bubba-album 2.3
bubba-backend 2.3.0.1
bubba-frontend 2.3.0.2
bubba3-kernel 2.6.38-1
filetransferdaemon 0.50.26
squeezecenter 7.5.4.dfsg1-2
However if I run the software update again (even after the reboot) it downloads a few initial files and then goes back into the "verifying post upgrade system integrity" at 0% forever.
During the "verifying post upgrade system integrity" loop, it does periodically say, "Was unable to connect to server; This is probably due to temporary shutdown of the webserver during upgrade. Please be patient. Will retry."I read some historical posts which inferred that the B3 interface versions may not actually reflect the current versions if there was a problem.
How can I ascertain if the update was successful and how will I be able to upgrade in the future if I cannot get past this "verifying post upgrade system integrity" message.

Are you able to SSH into the box and run

This is generally the first step that people use when a web-upgrade borks

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

I'm not too sure what the do with the dpkg --configure -a response?

Hello

Use that command:
dpkg --configure -a: , and then the apt-get update. Apt-get upgrade again.

Your on the right way.

Mine runs stable for 13 days now.

Hi Phil,

Last week I had exactly the same "verifying post upgrade system integrity" loop problem after the web upgrade. Because everything works OK after a reboot i did not try to run the web upgrade again, until I saw your message here on the board and yes, stil the same problem for me.
I was happy to see that the trick of Rene also worked for me, but i still wonder wat the exactly reason is for this failure.

It seems that there is still a problem with the update.

Hi Rene,

I did that already several times.
It resolved for me the "verifying post upgrade system integrity" loop problem.
However, the syslog timeout messages keeps coming back after every attempt to update the system.

Hi all,

this is a known problem occuring for some users after the 2.3 upgrade. We are right now working on a fix for this, this fix will also automatically fix the problems you have seen (and fixed with dpkg --configure...), so for those of you being concerned, we have a solution in place before we release the next update, don't worry.
