B3 - Can't add pictures to album

Post by spaceuser »

I a newbie to Bubba 3. Bought it a month ago. Managed to create/add several albums with pictures, but after having a three week of vacation there is no longer possible to add pictures to a new or old album. When selecting folder/picture, and pressing the 'add' button, I could wait for ever... and no picture will be added.

When logged in, I could see the empty album, but when logged in using ssh from my Linux Mint client computer, there is no album folder created on /home/storage/pictures.

I find it very strange, so I did an update of the Bubba yesterday, which seems to never ending, and forced me to follow the intructions mentioned in the forum with

apt-get update
apt-get upgrade

and a 'dpkg --configure -a' was also needed.

So now I seem to have the latest patches anyway, but the album still don't let me to add new pictures. The syslog says following:
Aug 21 10:46:16 b3 apache2: here

Aug 21 10:47:17 b3 Bubba: :Album[2700]: 0, Loop: We are not running at the moment, idle for 1 revolutions
Aug 21 10:47:17 b3 Bubba: :Album[2700]: 0, Timeout: Bubba::Album server terminating
I don not understand if that's normal or not, but it looks strange with "Loop: We are not running at the moment". What's that mean?

I would appreciate any comment on this.

TIA

Seem to be a problem with permissions. Changed file mod bits from 660 to 775, and I could create and add images to a an album. I seems clear to me that the album wouldn't be created as physical folders on disk. Instead they seems to be virtual only, and with 'pointers' to the images within the album from the source folder where the images are stored.

I discover another serious problem now.

When having images taken in 'portrait' format, they tend to be converted by the album software to 'landscape' format, which results in a wrong image view. I had a picture of a funny looking big tree, which now laying down. It's often when you can't take images with your camera in a 'landscape' format, and with this kind of images I edit them using GIMP or similar, before they being copied to the server. But in this case it doesn't matter because the album software can't show them in a correct way. This must be a bug.

I have tried to removed the album. Viewed all images directly on my Linux Mint client computer, and they all look correct. Created the album again, and adding the images again, without any change. It's still wrong.
