Hello All,

This i found today, it seems that my girlfriend cannot email any more. Does anyone know what happend here and if i can resolve this on my side?

The message says it all: Domain not found.
If you do a DNS check on upcmail.nl you see it indeed does not exist, as it has no A record. It does however have a valid MX record, and the postfix docs say:

Code: Select all

reject_unknown_sender_domain
Reject the request when Postfix is not final destination for the sender address, and the MAIL FROM domain has 1) no DNS A or MX record, or 2) a malformed MX record such as a record with a zero-length MX hostname (Postfix version 2.3 and later).
So it should work. To verify that this is the culprit, can you remove "reject_unknown_sender_domain" from /etc/postfix/main.cf and retry mailing?

I actually checked 62.179.121.4 and it is not a valid mail server, in that it has port 25 closed. This alone should be enough reason to reject the mail.

Hello Ubi,

I found out that upc had some dhcp issues in its network, so all ipadresses including their servers changed. The real ip of that domain starts with 213 now. The upcmail.nl domain is from my own provider.

So i think this issue should solve within a day or two.

Btw thx ubi

Hello Ubi,

As you know UPC gives troubles sometimes, but this is new to me, even gmail gets refused:

Dec 27 10:02:26 SERVER9 postfix/smtpd[22887]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[209.85.210.53]: 450 4.1.8 <m@gmail.com>: Sender address rejected: Domain not found; from=<m@gmail.com> to=<rene@rrutten.nl> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail-pz0-f53.google.com>

Rene

PS: i changed a few rejects in main.cf but i am a bit worried about this.

Then it would be very nice to change the topic title into "[SOLVED] Refused email". This would help to see which topic is solved and which is open. Thanks !

Almost correct...

You should edit the first entry in this topic and change the subject there, so that the topic will show as [Solved] in the forum overview.
