Yes, we have confirmed the issue with one printer model, and have scheduled a fix for the 2.5 release.

I'm also having problems with my printer. It did work fine, then I reinstalled the b3 system and now the printer is not shown anymore.
Canon iP2000, b3 v2.4.

I posted a question about it here: http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3561 but never got a reply.
The printer is listed with a lsusb but does not show up in gui.

You can add Brother HL-5130 to the list of printers that doesn't work. My lpr.log says the following:

I have a Canon Selphy 510 that doesn't work with B3 (version 2.4).

Hi Excito
It's boring to use a B3 if my printer is missing in the network / intallation.
Can you provide a date when a usable update will be available?
Or shall I look for another NAS whish supports this function? Or can I help to solve this problem somehow?
Have a good evening...

Hi,

My HP1020 is attached, on & visible in the B3 webinterface (version 2.4)
(Attached printers Hewlett-Packard HP LaserJet 1020)
But printing to this printer doesn't do anything. Nothing in the queue or printer.
It's just silently waiting for a command that doesn't arrive.

Looking in the samba log:

Found a possible solution on a website:
The LaserJet 1020 is a host-based printer (i.e. it does not have much built-in intelligence), and, as such, does not understand standard printer languages such as PCL5; it relies on the host providing the raster image.
Is it time for a a real printer or does anyone know a good workaround?

No need for a real printer.
The hplj1010 doesn't understand the common printer language either and was build for Microsoft OS. But if you attach it to the b3 it should work. You are addressing the printer through another computer and not directly.

Hi, my printer is not showing up either. Its a Canon Pixma IP4200. just upgraded my B" to v2.4, and now the B2 are not working as a printer server anymore. To bad!

Is there an upgrade of the software coming, or am I missing some hidden function?

Hi, Also got a new B3 and love it, but I'm also somewhat new to Linux. I have a slightly different problem. With original software version in unit my printer could be attached and drivers installed but would not print. With v2.4 upgrade, printer attached automatically, installed, and works perfectly! So I should be happy, and am, but small issue, not really a problem, remains. Without the Printer service page, how do I easily get rid of original, non-working, printer installation? Or, is it time to brush up on Linux? Thanks.

Thanks johannes, I found your hint to find CUPS at b3:631 in another printer topic and was able to delete my non-working printer. I'm happy now.

Still no printer working with an upgrade to b3 2.4.2. (did work pre 2.4, Canon iP2000)

Please, this is a real issue for a server where printing is one of it's main purposes.
