B2 op 2.0.5 reports up to date

Occasionally, I have my Bubba|2 check for updates through the webinterface. Sometimes new version have been installed, but it has been quite a while now.

Today, I visited the forum and saw release notes of a version 2.5.

My Bubba doesn't seem to notice the new release.

When I visit the status page, the following is reported:

No system messages available
Yes, I restarted i, just to make sure it was in a stable state.

When I go to the software update page, the following is reported:
Software update
Include hotfixes and system specific updates (Explain) is On.

Current package versions
bubba-frontend: 2.0.0.9
bubba-backend: 2.0.0.11
bubba-album: 2.0.0.4
filetransferdaemon: 0.50.20
squeezecenter: 7.5.4.dfsg1-2

When clicking Update system, sometimes the following steps are reported:
Preparing to update system
Checking for hotfixes
No hotfixes available, proceeding with upgrade.
Verifying pre upgrade system integrity.
Upgrade: Updating sources;
Upgrade: Querying available upgrades
Verifying post upgrade system integrity
No upgrades available,
and sometimes it's just from first to last step. user.log reports similar info. I have also tried with the setting for hotfixes Off, to no avail.

Am I correct in assuming that my system should find a software update?
How can I force the installation of the latest version?

I would be most pleased with a newer version of squeezecenter...

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

You are correct, there is a newer version available, but it is not possible to do a web update to reach it. In march this year we merged the Bubba 2 and B3 softwares, and released a new installer for those B2 owners who wanted to reach B3 status. However, since this update is major (both feature wise and technically) a fresh installation is required to reach it. Once you have installed it, future updates will be as usual, through the web interface. YOu will then be on what we call the B3 platform, and will receive all software updates the B3 owners get.
