how can i find bubba2 on network?

Post by rdaneel »

Hi all,

my bubba2 went missing on the network. i'm not sure why but i think it has something to do with the DHCP server or it doesn't get an IP adress. I don't know.
http://bubba.local does not resolve and i don't know bubba's IP adress so i can't SSH.
How can i reach bubba???

Try something like http://www.advanced-ip-scanner.com/. It simply tries to reach alls ip addresses in the scope you set and tells you which ones answers. I use it sometimes when I don't know on what address to find something. There are probably other ways, but this one is simple and effective 8)

You can also use nmap (nmap.org) which has a client for Win/Mac/Linux

It also scans/pings your entire subnet for active hosts/ports
