How to upgrade bubba2 from version 1.2

I reinstalled the OS on my bubba2 from an excito branded thumb drive that I had.
It appears to be version 1.2 (on the web interface)

The 'update software' link in the web interface fails.

The OS is debian etch and all the repositories in /etc/apt/sources.list are out of date and non existent so I cant doe apt-get update without a whole load of errors.

I downloaded the zip file b2-install-2.4.1.zip, unzipped it and put it on a usb drive and tried to install that but the bubba2 just ignores it (despite holding down button etc as specified).

How can I upgrade to a stable system?
I cant post the results of the apt-get because the forum says:
"Your post looks too spamy for a new user, please remove off-site URLs."

I copied the files install/payload/bubbaroot-120319-1139.tar.gz and intall/8313E21.itb from the downloaded update file replacing the old files.

The update then works fine.

It must be something about my usb stick that it did not like.
It now reports version 2.4.1 and is running squeeze.
