postfix configuration problem ?

I got SSL to work as mentioned in: http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=3164

I still have the problem that my home IP adress is revealed if i use my B3 box/ horde to send from.

So the software logs the first mailhop from your desktop to your bubba. This is normal behaviour according to spec. What you want is not normal behaviour for mail relays, and should be be considered an issue for the Excito helpdesk.

First: Why do you think this is problem? Why does it need solving?

Yes, it is normal behaviour to add the sender info and get a chain of mail relays.
I think horde is doing the adding you don't want.
Do you get the desired mail headers if you do a command line mail send?

Mail from privatdemail.net regarding the header problem:

There is a simple explanation: privatdemail.net works strictly according
to RFC-822 which allows "not to add" receive lines, but not to remove
such lines. Our hiding mechanism simply does not add a received from
line, but it does not manipulate headers.
Some smtp hosts check received from lines for plausibility, if negative
on that, mail is classified as spam.

If you want to ignore RFC 822, so let your own mailhost removing all
received from lines, send mail to privatdemail.net so privatdemail.net
appears as first hop.

We are supporting privacy _and_ authenticity which implies never to
manipulate mails.

I do not understand, are you saying that if you do
echo test|mail -s test <your valid email adres>
you do not get an email?

maybe the mail is bounced, but you gave an invalid sender address (@b3.localdomain) so the bounce never arrived and was discarded as it should have been.

if you sent mail via the postfix mail subsystem it is *impossible* that there is nothing in the mail logs. Fix this problem first! And fix your sender address!!

Ubi is right.
There should be something in the mail logs.
I guess there is something wrong with the mail from rewrite
Do a /etc/init.d/postfix stop and a /etc/init.d/postfix start
And look in the syslog for errors

I think I've been quite clear in asking you to change your sender address and only show data from the mail log. You decided to do neither. Therefore I'm not going to bother with this thread anymore.
