I don't think he knows how Ubi.
Could you do a

Code: Select all

cat /etc/postfix/generic
I guess you are missing an entry for root@b3.localdomain

root@b3:/home/xxxxxx# cat /etc/postfix/generic

You need to map your local users to a valid email address.
That is what you do in the /etc/postfix/generic file.
First local user then valid mail user which is known to the mail server
For example, I have:
You should do the same, something like

Code: Select all

supermagnum@b3.localdomain supermag@privatdemail.net
root@b3.localdomain supermag@privatdemail.net
Then

Code: Select all

postmap /etc/postfix/generic
/etc/init.d/postfix restart
echo postfixtest|mail -s postfixtest supermag@privatdemail.net
If you look in the mail.log you should now see that it sends the mail out using supermag@privatdemail.net and as that email address is known and valid to privatdemail it should be delivered to you.

/etc/init.d/postfix restart

cat /etc/postfix/generic:
supermagnum@localdomain.local supermag@privatdemail.net
root@b3.localdomain supermag@privatdemail.net

echo postfixtest|mail -s postfixtest supermag@privatdemail.net ( that one did arrive)
root@b3:/etc/postfix# echo postfixtest|mail -s postfixtest web@onsleven.com

you don't really need the mail.warn etc files. Personally I find them confusing and clogging up disk space. If you have spare time, you may want to comment out the lines referring to those files in /etc/rsyslogd.conf and then "/etc/init.d/rsyslogd reload"
