Hi everyone,
I have my B3 for few months now and I have a problem.
I use it as a server and I have WD Red 3TB installed in it.
Everything was fine until yesterday. I cannot connect to it from web interface or SSH, I don't see it in my local area network.
LED in front of B3 is purple all the time. B3 is not reacting on holding power button (it is not turning off). When I disconnect power supply from wall outlet and connect it again LED is purple and it doesn't gets blue no matter how long I wait.
How can I fix this problem? Is the only solution reinstalling B3? I don't want to lose all data stored on B3.

B3 connection problem
Re: B3 connection problem
purple LED means that it cannot boot fully, most likely your hard drive has (partially?) crashed. To find out if your data is still available (which it very well might be with some luck) you could do one of several things:
- remove the HDD, connect it to a linux machine and mount the home partition - copy your data (if your drive is healthy)
- boot the B3 using the brand new Gentoo live build (http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=5379), mount the HDD and check
- boot using the Excito rescue stick, as described here: http://wiki.excito.org/wiki/index.php/Rescue_System
Good luck!
