Help with Bubba Two - External Access

Post by lad786 »

Hi,

I just received my Bubba two and have been trying toset it up. its connectedto my netgear dg814 router and acts as a server. i would like to access it from externally but for some reason cannot. i have it set up as follows:
connected to LAN port to router
set it up with a static IP
easyfind worked but ever time i tested it ans typed in http://<easyfind>.bubbaserver.com this took me to my router settings;
i have configured the router to port forward to the server;

I decided to post my problems here to see if anyone can help. otherwide this is going back to excito.

ANy help would be much appreciated.

Regards

If you have an router between the bubba and the wide net, you need to open up relevant ports in the router, and forward then to the bubba, for example port 80.

Hi Carl

I have forwarded the relevant port. since posting this query, i have now been able to use easyfind to allocate my bubba with a name (which is wallet) and the external ip address comes up.
i then tested it by typing in from an external source http://wallet.bubbaserver.com but i get a blank web page and the address in the address toolbar changes to my external ip address. this page however does not ask me to log in. pop ups are diasbled but no luck.

any other ideas to solve this issue?
Thanks for your help.

Easyfind is just forwarding to your ip address so you eventually get your own website which is at "/home/web/" and not something to login to :-)

Getting access from outside is written in your manual. First check your setup i think your router is on WAN and bubba is on LAN at this router?

Check on your router on which local IP (168.192.*.*) your bubba 2 sits. Then port forward 80 to this ip (and all other ports linke 110 etc etc) and from then when you type your static(?) ISP ip address (ipconfig/all or google what's my ip) you will see your own bubba page at your bubba server. Easy does it.
