Cannot see Bubba on my LAN

Post by iglpdc »

Hi all,

I'm having a problem to configure my B2. I want to use it only as a server. So I have connected my B2's LAN port to one of my router's LAN port. After powering on B2, the blue LED blinks for a while and then stays steady. The green LED in B2's LAN port is on, same as the corresponding LED in my router. However if I go to http://bubba.local (I have a Mac) I'm not able to access B2. I've tried other variants (http://bubba, etc...) with no success. If I use nmap to check the computers in my LAN, I find no trace of B2. So it seems that B2 does not get a IP from my router (DHCP). If connect my B2 directly to my laptop ethernet port, I can access B2 throught http://bubba.local. and everything goes fine.

How can I fix that? (I have only my Mac laptop, no other keyboard, monitor, etc... to use)

First time I powered Bubba on, I plugged the Ethernet cables in a wrong way. Could it be that?

Thanks in advance,

Ivan

What happens if you force the bubba to automatically fetch an IP via DHCP?

i.e. access the bubba via direct ethernet connection to computer and in the settings go to Network -> LAN and set "Obtain IP-address automatically (DHCP)". Then connect it to the router again.

Check the routers web admin if the bubba actually does fetch an IP and use that IP to connect to the bubbas web gui (instead of http://bubba.local/).

If you just want it to work you can always set a static IP.
