Hi was trying to install Transmission on my Bubba2 follwowing the Guide from http://www.webupd8.org/2009/12/setting- ... ui-in.html.

I changed the Package files to:

wget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/ma ... owerpc.deb
wget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/ma ... owerpc.deb
wget http://http.us.debian.org/debian/pool/m ... owerpc.deb
wget http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/pool/ma ... -1_all.deb

When running ' dpkg -i *.deb ' though i got the following errors:

bubba:/home/user# dpkg -i *.deb
Selecting previously deselected package libevent-2.0-5.

Should i try install an older version? Any help is appreciated. I just wanna have a basic guide to setup transmission, would be usefull to any torrent user with a bubba2. Thanks

Hi CoachZ,

I've been using transmission-daemon on my b3 together with the remote gui as outlined in that article for quite some time. It works very well. I just installed transmission-daemon from the standard repositories.

Recently I decided to use my bubba2 for torrents instead. I'm not sure what version the bubba2 was on, but I hadn't upgraded it for a very long time. There was no recent transmission-daemon in the repositories, so I tried to compile it from source. Got stuck with dependency of libevent as you did, so tried to compile that as well.
It compiled OK, but trying to get it installed properly turned out to be tricky. At that point I decided I had spent too much time on it, and wiped/installed the 2.4 rc3 bubba2 image.

After that it was as easy as apt-get install transmission-daemon...

Follow the download link in the first post of the thread I linked to above, and you will find all the 2.4 release candidates.
