Preserving Proxy entries in apache config

Hi,
I have a couple of ProxyPass and ProxyPassReverse entries that I have entered into the VirtualHost section of /etc/apache2/sites-available/bubba file to do some internal routing (mainly to do Ajax routing to my Arduinos by maquerading as the same domain). Everything has worked well for over a year; except that every time there is an Excito update, I lose these custom entries and have to re-enter them.
Is there a way to preserve them or enter them somewhere else instead?
