I am trying to compile an application that uses assembly language, yet as is having problems when I specify march=armv4tl, which is what comes from uname -m. as does work with march=armv4t (no trailing l). I have looked fairly deeply for a description of the difference between these two architecture...

It was too much trouble -- I just converted the main application to use ncurses instead.

Thanks for having a look, though.

Thanks for this information, Tor. I have commented in the lines in for the general sarge repository, but it seems that the termcap-compat package is only available there in source form, which presupposes the i386 architecture. Trying to download the source and compile it gives errors. Is there a spe...

termcap support

Hello, I was just curious if there was some strong reason (such as dependence on older C libraries) why the Debeian package termcap-compat is not available on the standard package servers. Many of the building blocks on which we are basing our product depend on termcap, and it would be very good to ...

I just thought I'd point out that, when SSHing to the bubba server, and coming in via the self-generated DNS name bubba registers with my local DNS server, I have at times found myself not able to log in.

When I SSH using the IP address specifically, then I am able to log in just fine.

Scary that.

Official Kernel Upgrade

I see this sort of reply a lot -- certain things don't work on Excito because the system software is too old, and to upgrade pieces of it would be high risk.

This is blocking the deployment of certain tools we'd like to VAR out with a Bubba. When would the next kernel upgrade be taking place?

Asterisk in Debian repositories is ancient.

Hi, We have tried to run Asterisk on Bubba. Its available through the Debian repos. And we can confirm that it indeed do run. We have however not done any more serious testing on this. If you try it we are of course curious on how it works ;) /Tor The asterisk in the debian repository is really old...
