Update. By jacking the Bubba up with a coin at each corner [to increase air flow] I have managed to lower the idle temperature by 7 degrees to 45. Thanks. This looks like it has worked. I did get an error message, something about xserver might not be installed, but I pressed ahead and after a couple of reboots I managed to update reprositories and install smbfs.
