Running rTorrent in Screen at boot up
Living in a country where the power is currently going off around 4 or 5 times a day it became essential to set up my Bubba server to restart rTorrent automatically on reboot. Having spent countless hours searching the web and trying various solutions I came across this site http://www.plouj.com/blo...

Hi, As I am a few hours ahead I have had another look at this issue and seem to be going round in circles. I am thinking that this may be due to Debian Lenny update so appreciate that I may have to wait a while for a fix. After doing a few apt-get update/install I have noticed that the process has e...

Trying to mend Apache?
Hi, It all started with an apt-get install transmission After that I could not connect to my Bubba server via the web interface. SSH, Samba, FTP & SFTP still worked so I assumed that the issue was with Apache. Having gone through various posts on this forum and the web I can report the following...

Update. By jacking the Bubba up with a coin at each corner [to increase air flow] I have managed to lower the idle temperature by 7 degrees to 45. As this is about 10 degrees about the ambient temperature I do not think I will get much better that this and the Bubba does not feel too hot when touched.

Solution to hot Bubba
Living in Asia where that ambient temperature is around 30 to 35 degrees I have been concerned about the temperature of my Bubba. Running hddtemp /dev/hda revealed that the temperature was around 52 degrees when idle. Partly due to being housed in a cupboard with the router, NAS and cable modem. I h...

Torrent client and thebox.bz
Hi,
Does anyone know what the torrent client is on the Bubba 1 server?
Also has anyone tried using the http://www.thebox.bz for downloading torrents? I have and can not get it to work with my Bubba, even thought the torrent will download on my netbook [running Ubuntu 8.10].
Thanks
James
