I am having lots of problems with my Bubba2 now, most probably due to irresponsible experimentation with my sources.list file. Could someone post the contents of a working sources.list?
Regards, Jan

Re: Increasing choice
Tor, I did not see your reply until today, sorry. What I was hoping for was not the possibility to choose a "pure Debian system"; this is possible even now, and in fact I am doing this. I would like to "save both the goat and the cabbage" as they say in Holland: keep the web inte...

Re: Bubba2 as print server: Brother printers
Hi There, Lots of people having exactly the same issue with Brother printers [..] I'm actively looking for a solution for another model of printer, so will let you know if I find a solution. Thanks much. I hope you find something. In the meantime the solution I mentioned in my previous post works; ...

Bubba2 as print server: Brother printers
I would like to use my Bubba2 as a print server for the home. My printer is a Brother HL2030 (very similar to many other black-and-white Brother laser printers). Brother provides a "driver" (basically, a program that translates PostScript into "Brother printer language") for Linu...

Increasing choice
AFAIK, if you use Bubba-frontend and Bubba-backend, you also commit to certain choices made by Excito; e.g. the mailserver. So I had to remove "frontend" and "backend" because I wanted the exim4 mail server, for instance. Installing exim4 automatically removed the "frontend&...

Re: What will WLAN add-on look like?
Maybe this is already an obsolete question, but if I buy one of those WLAN stick things, could I use a Netbook with WLAN connection just like it were connected to the wired LAN?

Re: Upgrade to Debian Lenny?
I should like to know, too. How should I modify the supplied sources.list? See discussion at http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2009/05/msg01499.html, concentrating on Bubba2 from http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2009/05/msg01921.html. It seems we shall have to change to Lenny sometime anyhow be...

nfs-kernel-server (which now works) is really an improvement on nfs-user-server. Now I can transfer large files to and from Bubba2 while at the same time my wife is watching a film on the same Bubba2. With nfs-user-server, such activities caused hiccups and gaps in the display of the film. Thanks fo...

Re: New release for BubbaTwo: 1.0.13
Release notes for BubbaTwo 1.0.13 After a really long delay, I'm happy to release an upgrade to BubbaTwo software. Following fixes has been made in this release:[..] Am I correct in thinking that the kernel (and its modules) are not involved in this upgrade? I.e. no nfs-kernel-server support yet? M...

Re: Juat a thought ...
I know. But what if a bit flips from 0 to 1 such that not only a reinstallation takes place, but also a wipe of the data partition? Maybe I am paranoid, but this single line in the install/cnofigurtation script in the install directory needs only 1 bit to flip (altough the right one..) and all my d...

Re: ftd documentation
[..] there are plans to make ftd fully open source, though at the time I can't give an estimate, as the workload is high with more essential updates. /Carl Oh well, I don't care very much if ftd is open source or not, but it would be nice to have some docs/manpages about it. I mean, for us idiots w...

Re: Cannot Access Bubba 404 Error
Repost in correct forum Hello, [..] I am having ongoing problems with my Bubba - I have installed the software to it from scratch 3 times in two weeks now :-( Please don't do that anymore. Re-installing the whole system is a shot in the dark, and you lose all your data. Solve the problem instead. I...
