OpenVPN and PPTP at the same time?
Hi, I have setup a VPN between two different B3 according to the HowTo (OpenVPN option). Now I would like to have a VPN from my phone to my B3 as well. Is it possible to setup a PPTP VPN and use it at the same time as the OpenVPN tunnel? (PPTP is easier to use/configure from my phone) Best Regards, ...

B3 loosing WiFi connection with devices
Hi, I have a number of devices connected to my B3 using WiFi. The issue I have is that now and then they loose the IP connection. On my Android devices this is very annoying since they sometimes then switch to 3G witch is a lot slower. Jul 1 10:48:01 MorganB3 hostapd: wlan0: STA 00:26:e8:86:de:73 IE...

E-mail from backup service classified as spam
Hi, I have enabled a number of backup jobs in the Web-UI of my B3. On the root account I have added a .forward file pointing to a external e-mail account. The issue I have is that my ISP is classifiying the e-mail from the backup activity as spam. Jul 1 06:25:12 MorganB3 postfix/pickup[17160]: EFB49...

Hi All, When my B3 boots I get a whole bunch of warninges/errors in the syslog that are related to the console-kit-deamon. See below. Is there anything I can do to get rid of these errors? Re: Debian Administrator for Dummies?
Hi All, FYI A while ago I bought the book “Pro Linux System Administration” (from Apress). I find it very useful with a lot of good explanation and description of how to do stuff. It is focusing on the Red Hat and Ubuntu distributions, but since Ubuntu is based on Debian most of the stuff one can us...

Re: minidlna needs higher "max_user_watches"
Hi HnLn,
I need to improve my Googling skills, I have searched but not found these entries
As indicated in the posts this removed the warning from minidlna as well as ensured that the setting survived a boot. Thanks!

Re: No access to new Excito B3
You can add the IP address(es) of you LAN to a "ignore" list in denyhosts. This will prevent any blocking of IP addresses that you use on your LAN. The drawback is that if someone is faking these IP addresses in an attack denyhost will not block them. I have looked into allowing all traffi...

Re: No access to new Excito B3
Hi,
If denyhost added a IP address to the /etc/deny.hosts file, denyhost will put it back automatically (if entry is removed). There is a description on http://denyhosts.sourceforge.net/faq.html#3_19 how to remove it completely. It is a bit messy but it works, I have done it
Best Regards,
Morgan

Re: minidlna needs higher "max_user_watches"
Hi rjacobsson, Yes I have all three in my minidlna config file. Did the warning dissapear when you increased the limit to 32768? The warning is still there for me. I also now discovered that the value was reset to 8192 after a reeboot. Did you do anything else to get it to remain after a reeboot? Be...

Re: Release notes for Excito B3 software version 2.4
The new kernel source is directly available now as a debian source package, i.e. if you enables sources in your apt-sources (change_distribution -s elvin && apt-get update), then you can issue "apt-get source bubba3-kernel" for the sources. And is it to the file " /etc/apt/so...

Hi,
Rene: No, the HDD is quite.
RandomUsername: I am currently using it as a IPv4 and IPv6 router. I have also enabled IPSec but not got that fully working yet. I am currently not using it as a media server.

Re: B3 stopped responding and was not possible to restart
Hi,
I am on version 2.3.2. I just noticed that Excito released 2.4 the 26th of January but I assume you did not refer to that one, or?
I will upgrade anyhow and see if it helps.
