Re: Running server software update

Ok...looks like I have identified the issue. My IP was being denied in /etc/hosts.deny. No idea why that suddenly happened.

I have deleted it and added it to /etc/hosts.allow, but, interestingly the denial keeps being renewed in /etc/hosts.deny??

Re: Running server software update

Hi. I have looked at my Source.list (as suggested in the Manual (ch. 14 Getting inside your Bubba) and this is how it looks: # BUBBA|TWO apt sources.list # # Changes in this file might break your system # # vim: ft=debsources # The stable BUBBA|TWO repository, is in the suite "stable". deb...

Re: Running server software update

Thanks for your help guys. ANyone proficient enough to manually alter package repositories should not complain loudly when packages collide. As far as I am aware I have not changed the package repositories. All I have added is subversion and that has been running fine until now. I am not aware that ...

Re: Running server software update

The one suggested and on the web site - support@excito.com. They have sent an auto - response...but nothing of substance yet. Looking at it all a bit further it looks like this is the issue whenever I try to run any upgrade/install: root@B3Me:/home# apt-get update Hit http://b3.update.excito.org elv...

Reinstalling Subversion and Apache2

Hi, I have lost connection with my subversion (see post - http://forum.excito.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=2392) so have tried a reinstall. When I tried to install Subversion I got this error message Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done subversion i...

Re: Running server software update

Forgive me. Is this not a service provided by Excito? As a customer I assumed that I was seeking their support. Is that not correct? I asked a reasonable question at the very start of this post and then supplied the answers you asked. I then added more information to advise you that I had managed to...

Re: Software update fails

Hi.

Well I have had exactly the same problem with the upgrade. What was the outcome of your request for help? Was the issue resolved? If so, how? I can no longer access SSH and my svn won't connect.

Re: Running server software update

I have tried both. Mostly I use my dns name, but using the IP address does not work either. I can connect to the B3 web interface and run all functions there, but my svn connection fails and I am unable to access SSh using PuTTY - the connection is rejected and I get a message: "server unexpect...
