Easy, log in as root and edit the file /etc/dovecot/dovecot.conf There is a section at the top: # Protocols we want to be serving: # imap imaps pop3 pop3s protocols = imap imaps Just add pop3 (and pop3s if you want). After saving your change just do /etc/init.d/dovecot force-reload That should do th...

Yes thanks,

but wouldn't be nice to have control over it through the webinterface, ie making it a standard function?

dyndns etc

A nice feature would be to have is a dyndns client (there are similar DNS services) which will update the IP number if your IP number changes (ie some internet providers change your modem IP number regularly). This will usually also work behind firewalls as long as the client can connect. As resourc...

rm -f /lib/modules/2.6.16.16/kernel/net/ipv6 depmod -a does the trick. Better is to keep a copy of this directory tucked away somewhere. I checked with the ntpdate command (which triggers the ipv6 module as well). Works like a charm and no annoying messages anymore. Thanks Tor, Albert P.S. I assumed...

Found where the ipv6 message came from. It's produced by my crontab entry containing ntpdate. I tried ntpdate with the -4 option (use only ipv4) but that didn't make a difference. And it seems the ipv6 module is wrongly compiled with the following messages in the logs: ipv6: Unknown symbol crypto_al...

The idea that a drive will last longer when spinned down when not in use is actually not completely true. In fact spinning a drive up and down regularly will decrease it's life. Considering that bubba is not really a power-hungry device I wouldn't bother. Shutting it down during thunderstorms is one...

I used the minimal install image to recover my bubba. I had changed one of the startup scripts, and so it wouldn't startup properly. Booted with this image, can't remember if the disk was automatically mounted somewhere in the filesystem or if I did it by hand. Anyway, I could get to the edited file...

For those who could't get the torrents started here are few things: 1) The directory is called torrents in your home dir on bubba. 2) If you have changed parameters of the download manager (either by hand or through the web interface) then after the update the ftd config file in /etc/ftd is installe...

Good question!

I was struggling with this as well. I am able to start downloads when I fill in the link to the torrent file. But once I have a torrent file, how do you use that?

ipv6 messages in /var/log/messages

Seem to have spurious messages like these in /var/log/messages: ipv6: Unknown symbol crypto_alloc_tfm ipv6: Unknown symbol crypto_free_tfm It doesn't seem to affect anything. But since I am not using ipv6 is there a quick way to get rid of these messages so I'll have a clean messages file? Thanks, A...

I would not be so certain if 2.5" USB disks work on the port. I have one which doesn't spin up properly when connected to bubba. Mind you, the same disk wouldn't work on a laptop USB port either, only when I used the special USB cable which came with it. That cable had two USB connectors, one b...

Thanks cheeseboy, just noticed it myself. I was looking something with torrent in the name. I saw that the files themselves where created in the downloads directory, of course containing zeros to start with.

I guess the torrents I started are very quiet at the moment

torrent download, how?

I tried to start a few torrent downloads, the service has been started via the webinterface. However, it seems that nothing happens. I even don't see an appropriate service running on bubba (command line). I see the two torrents in the downloads screen, but nothing seem to happen. So, which service ...
