Re: Update UBOOT from OS
I want to use the community u-boot from github [1] which you might know, since the last commit if from you. :) Btw. what is the difference between this repo and your own [2] despite the fact that [2] look more official. Thanks! [1] https://github.com/nielsek/community-b3-uboot [2] https://github.co...

Re: Ancient Firebird on B3
Do you think it would be that simple ? The gcc version on squeeze is actually too recent to build this old version of firebird. You need to compile an 3.x version of gcc on the B3 and compile firebird with that. I just tested on a virtual i386 squeeze and it did the job. I suppose it would work on t...

Re: Ancient Firebird on B3
You should try to download config.guess and config.sub in the directory where they're supposed to be : wget -O builds/make.new/config/config.guess 'http://git.savannah.gnu.org/gitweb/?p=config.git;a=blob_plain;f=config.guess;hb=HEAD' wget -O builds/make.new/config/config.sub 'http://git.savannah.gnu...

Re: Gentoo live USB for Bubba|2 (with Linux 3.18.2) released
Good god you've written assembly code to boot large kernels on b2. Man you are crazy  I confess I would have modified U-Boot configuration. It's not that risky and the maintenance is easier in the long run. That being said I love the shimmed challenge :D Edit : just read the buildkernel-b2....

Re: Update UBOOT from OS
You should try to flash u-boot from u-boot following this guide Updating_your_B3_to_support_3TB_disks using the u-boot.kwb file you want to flash.

Re: Minimal wheezy install images for b3
I have not tested this kind of setup. For sure your data will be kept, however accessing from the wheezy image will have to be done manually (LVM setup and mountpoint). I think I have left the LVM tools in the image but if not it won't be too difficult to install them.

Re: Successful dist-upgrade to wheezy on a B3
Since I am also desperately trying to switch my B3 to a regular Debian, that can be updated with the normal package-sources. I also already flashed my U-Boot to support recent kernels. Is there any way to run a recent vanilla debian that can be easily updated through the regular sources (without re...

We are working on bringing the hotfix server back online (it has been shut down on 15th december due to the bankruptcy). Hopefully it should be back online next week.

Re: B2 rev RD serial access
No you must use an updated version of the bubba3-kernel package. There is one available here.paulchany wrote:So, I can to install the linux-image-3.2.0-4-powerpc package and can to boot with it?
I have now installed the bubba3-kernel version: 1:2.6.39.4-13.
Can I replace it with linux-image-3.2.0-4-powerpc?

Re: B2 rev RD serial access
And because of uboot that I have now on my Bubba 2, the newest kernels can't be installed on my Bubba2, right? The u-boot bug that prevent newer kernel from booting does not affect the Bubba 2. You can boot it with newest kernel without upgrading u-boot (in any case we don't have the original modif...

1. I shall test it as MouettE did ( contact the TX and the RX wires together on the cable, open a console and see if sent characters echo back ). Don't know only how to open a console on my Arch linux desktop system and how to send characters? 2. The hyperlink: http://viewtopic.php?f=8&t=206 do...

Re: Is Easyfind down?
DNS is still somewhat mysterious to me... The whois record for the domain shows correct nameservers so I guess the registrar this ok ? Could it be the other way round, the zone file being incorrect ? We still running on the original Excito registrar (loopia) but the administration interface is not v...

Re: Is Easyfind down?
You did not get an answer, This means your local DNS server (192.168.1.254) is buggered. You should get this: [root@php-sites ~]# dig -t ns myownb3.com ; <<>> DiG 9.8.2rc1-RedHat-9.8.2-0.30.rc1.el6 <<>> -t ns myownb3.com ;; global options: +cmd ;; Got answer: ;; ->>HEADER<<- opcode: QUERY, status: ...

Re: Is Easyfind down?
That wasn't what I meant. The point is that with https the browser is supposed to verify that the key[...] certificate as being genuine. I agree with all that but this is not what I was talking about. Excito repositories are signed with a gpg key and you need that key to distribute an update (which...
