Re: accessing and working with the Bubba
Ubi is correct - I was looking a windows type environment without loading a window manager on Bubba. I wanted to work on the box rather than copy files from it to a local machine then back again. Some things you can only do on the box itself unless you really open up the security. I do use the comma...

accessing and working with the Bubba
I have been trying to work out the best method to access for installing upgrading and general working on the Bubba. Thought I would relate my findings so far. I am accessing it from my WIndows 7 (64 bit) PC. I have used Tunnelier but have settled on Xming running in multiple window mode using putty ...

Re: xterm
Thanks very much.
Have modified sources.list; loaded xterm and x11-common and now works from Xming. Have been using Bitvise but prefer Xming - CPU is still very low so okay - will now look for file manager and good x editor - although VI is still my favourite!!

Re: Album a bit slow
I have given up on the provided Album. It is far too slow. It seems to hog the processor over a number of pictures. I have around 1000 pictures which I have to share with my family overseas. Thought this would be a good package but they have given up and so have I. I ended up writing my own and it i...

Re: several issues with the server
Just an update. I have given up on Horde and gone to roundcube with a mobile-cube theme which adds in a calendar. I have gone back to the Fritz box for media streaming. I have gone to plogger for the photo album. Bubba still goes to 98% cpu (apache) when it loads pics so will need to find out where ...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
By the way you can add a plug in (webcalendar) which allows you to use a calendar. There are also other plugins to synchronise contacts...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
apologies for not detailing how it installs. All I did was go to http://trac.roundcube.net/wiki and follow the instructions. I put the files in /usr/share/roundcube. The installer is really helpful... I then modified /etc/apache2/conf.d/horde.conf ( saved a copy first ) and put in Alias /pim /usr/sh...

Re: Better web email client - roundcube
It is a lot faster than horde.
Yes I'll see if I can remember how I installed it.

Better web email client - roundcube
I am not very happy with the horde mail client as I would prefer a more thick client looking mail front-end. For instance it does not display embedded html emails very well. Looking around I have found the web mail client called roundcube. I have installed this on the Bubba 2 and it makes the horde ...

several issues with the server
Not sure whether to have multiple posts or one but here goes. 1. Photo album is very slow when a lot of photographs are on it. Even though I have sub-albums etc. Started to look at the classes to see where the performance hit is but does anyone have an answer? 2. Horde client does not display html -...

Re: SSH can't login
So I have found the answer.
I have been using the Google Chrome browser. So it works on IE and Firefox but not on Chrome.

Re: SSH can't login
My software version is
Package name Package version
bubba-frontend 2.0.0.9
bubba-backend 2.0.0.11
bubba-album 2.0.0.4
filetransferdaemon 0.50.20
squeezecenter 7.5.0.dfsg1-5
I have sent an email to Excito for an explanation but no reply - is this normal?
