Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Hi, I will try tonight to do some further debugging, the backup job that I created previously was not that large so it is possibly the reason for me not seeing the errors that you do. Can I proceed with using the same username/pass as you send me before? /PA Please do. I appreciate any and all help...

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Hi pa, I've turned the logging up to 9 and it's shed some light on the problem. Here's a link to the log file (it's over 500 lines so I won't paste it all inline ;) ) http://dl.getdropbox.com/u/258067/Backup.log I can see why the second attempt is failing - it's because the first attempt to upload t...

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Hi pa, Thanks so much for trying it, I appreciate it. I'm also glad it worked because it means that it's something (hopefully) fixable at my end. I'm currently using Bubba software 1.2.3. I can't get these ftp transfers to fail when running ncftp commands manaully but there's something wrong somewhe...

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
OK, they seem to have sorted out their problems. Manual putting and getting is all working fine. Backups from the Bubba are not

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Can you run: host xxxxx.onlinestoragesolution.net and provide the ouput? xxxxxx.onlinestoragesolution.net has address 208.66.233.200 Also, when you run ncftp by hand: ncftp -u username xxxxx.onlinestoragesolution.net how long does it take to connect? It connects almost instantly (for comparison, it...

Re: Filesystem for external harddrive (backup)
I suppose it depends on your use case as to which file system would work best. As I understand it, you can connect any hard drive to the USB port on the Bubba and the Bubba can automatically set it up as a mirror to the internal drive. This is probably the easiest thing to do (presumably the filesys...

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
Hi pa, I'd really like some feedback here. It's features like this that made me buy a Bubba over a (cheaper) dumb NAS box. It'd be really great if the advertised features actually worked! ;) I've abandoned a Mozy account that my old Windows file server backed up to. I've only got 30 days to get an o...

Re: Linux experts: two B2
I see. From memory, this is what you'll need to do: First things first, on the server7 (the one you want to share), make sure nfs-common and nfs-kernel-server are installed. su apt-get install nfs-common nfs-kernel-server you will need to put the /home directory in /etc/exports. nano /etc/exports en...

Re: Linux experts: two B2
I can't tell if you want one Bubba to be a mirror of the other for backup purposes (you mention copying a folder) or something else. From your original post I thought you had the same users on each Bubba and you wanted one home directory for each users e.g. if they logged into Bubba A they access th...

Re: Linux experts: two B2
Need more info. How are you sharing? NFS or Samba?
There are already a couple of threads on here with instructions on how to share both types.

Re: Write errors when backup to FTP target
This afternoon I remembered I've got a bit of webspace with ftp access so I decided to try to backup to that so I could at least eliminate the ftp server from the equation. The results were exactly the same.
