Re: Accessing through a router
I'm quite certain that the Linksys can be configured to hand out a "static" IP to a specific MAC address. To find that MAC address just go into the DHCP manager of the Linksys and view the current leases and their associated MAC addresses, or SSH into the B2 and run `ip link show eth0` * ...

I have tried to do the same with a freenas NAS setup, but no luck. Dont know how to setup the routing from router to NAS when the ip's are chang...

Shell rescue or reinstall system
Hi. I will be away for a year and my B2 will be at a server room. If it somehow screws up, is there any possibility to remotely reinstall or rescue the system through shell? Assuming I leave the USB stick with the install files in. If I go for reinstall I would like to preset the easyfind settings s...

Re: OpenProducts to take over Excito B3 product line
OpenProducts and Excito are two seperate companies and we can not speak for Excitos plans of their future. However, OpenProducts will continue to develop products, but it is too soon for us to be discussing future products, right now we need to focus on getting the final details together with Excit...

Re: Can not read files from samba

I found some strange folders in root (./.cache/duplicity/ ), I deleted tham and i had free space agin. But soon after I got the problem onc...

Hi.
I wonder if i backup through FTP to another server, will the backup copy all the files every time the backup runs, or only the new ones?

Want backup to copy files directly.
Hi.
I would like the backup function to just copy the files instead of compressing them and so on.
Just a plain/direct copy would be nice

Re: how to restore a backup?
I reinstalled my unit and now backup is working. You will have to use the web interface to restore the backup under timeline you can restore the backups (saved as difftar files). I guess if my bubba gets totally toasted i will have to use somekind of program to restore the backup files.

Re: Can not read files from samba
ah a full disk would explain the behaviour. As mentioned, there are many reasons why your observed behaviour could occur. In your case your root partition was full (your 200GB free was your home partition), most likely due to oversize log files or unroutable email. Re-installing would not have been...

Re: How do i direct user FTP login to storage folder?
Regarding anonymous, I think the practice of letting anyone in using the email address as password has been around for so long that it would not be practical to change it. Why don't you just disable anonymous completely and set up a general account for your friends/users? Cheeseboy When i have anon...
