Re: Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
1. Have you tried other files that use a different combination of container format vs codec? Yes, DVD-rip (iso/VOB) or 720p avi-file is also lagging. 2. Have you tried the same file(s) on your friends setup. No, but he says that both 720p/1080p files MKV files play smoothly on his setup. 3. Are you...

Re: Automatically save login information via SMB
I don't have the B3 accessible from the web, but perhaps you can give me a hint about what to change? I've been meddling with Linux for 10 years now =)

Re: Automatically download torrent files using rsstorrent
There you go, I initially copied this guide to the wiki, and did some minor fixes, and then I can update it more later as the script improves.

Re: Automatically save login information via SMB
Yes, I have seen this before as well, asking for samba login before being able to print. I agree, very annoying. What windows version are you on? On windows7 on our test machine, this issue seems gone. Perhaps a windows bug that is now resolved? If you are on windows7 let me know, I can check a few...

Automatically save login information via SMB
Hi, I've recently setup my B3 to work as a printer server (it rocks!) so I can finally hide the printer behind the couch instead of having it close to the computer. It works well, but there is one thing nagging me. To actually use the printer (which I can access via \\B3\) I have to login via the ne...

Automatically download torrent files using rsstorrent
Hi guys I was lacking software that could automatically download torrent files based on a regular expression (or something like it) to my B3. The torrent download is great, but it kind of defeats the purpose for me, since I still had to log in to my torrentsite, download the torrent, and manually pu...

Re: Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
Is there anyone from Excito that can answer if this is anything they have seen before? Any tips regarding NFS sharing specific for the B3? Where is the bottleneck (or where do you think it might be)? Should I increase buffer-size?

Re: Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
The problem could be that I have a Tvix instead of a more powerful HTPC. Like I said above, streaming over NFS to my desktop computer from the B3 works flawlessly. NFS: Bubba -> Tvix - Stutters NFS: Desktop -> Tvix - OK NFS: Bubba -> Desktop - OK DLNA: Bubba -> Tvix - OK It could also have something...

Re: Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
I'm thinking about cranking up the read/writesize to 32768, but that will have to be tested tomorrow.

Re: Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
Oh, by the way, my settings for NFS are:
Code: Select all
/home/user 192.168.0.0/24(rw,async,root_squash,no_subtree_check)
/home/storage 192.168.0.0/24(rw,async,root_squash,no_subtree_check)

Better performance for DLNA than NFS on B3
Hi guys I recently got a Tvix HD Café player (little small round thing) and thought it was awesome compared to my Playstation (which can hardly play anything format-wise)! But when I tried watching a 720p MKV file it started lagging and stuttering, and I was afraid that I had just bought some utter ...

Re: B3 not renewing IP address
When I said "Request new address" I meant "get an IP address at all" so it could get network access. The B3 always gets the same address from the dhcp server and that's great. I guess the problem is that it didn't get the gateway etc. settings correctly. The unplug-wait for a whi...

Re: B3 not renewing IP address
Cool I'll try it! It could be that I first plugged it into the B3, waited for a while, and then plugged it into the switch.
