from another thread:

Code: Select all

    echo "UseIPv6 off" >> /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf
Also is your hostname correctly defined? i.e., run "hostname" on the commandline.

Re: Wan dhcp does not work

I might buy it back later when it is more mature IU doubt it will never bee so "mature" that it would prevent whatever way you have set it up. So in my opinion it's just a a matter of configuring it the correct way and/or understanding how the other components in your setting works. You c...

I get a lot faster speeds so it must be something related to your unit or environment.

Re: SSH access to NATted internal server

However trying to connect from work with ssh -p 3022 myb3-ip does not work... How can I see what rules iptables is actually using, maybe there's something left fro...

Although I did make quite a few changes to the original setup. Can you verify that "/lib/modules/2.6.38/kernel/net/ipv4/netfilter/iptable_nat.ko" exists? Or just try

Code: Select all

# modprobe iptable_nat
Yes it does exist, but the modprobe command does not do anything.

Re: SSH access to NATted internal server

Thanks Gordon, I'm putting that to /etc/networking/firewall.conf but when I try to "restore" the rules I get "failed at line 63" line 63 contains iptables -t nat -A PREROUTING -i eth0 -p tcp -m tcp --dport 3022 --to-destination 192.168.1.2:22 Sorry for being a noob, but... - is t...

SSH access to NATted internal server

Hello firewall and SSH gurus... I have tried to get SSH/SCP access to my web server in my internal network from outside. My work machine -> B3 -> Web server The goal would be to be able to transfer files easily between my work machine and my web server. B3 is acting as server-router-fw and I have tr...

Re: mkv in miniDLNA

Has anyone out there found a way of getting MINIDLNA to play Matroska (Mkv) files? they remain the one codec I can't deal with (at least that I need to deal with) and any suggestions would be fantastic. I thought minidlna is just a way to deliver the files to players. So it does not care about the ...

Re: Extremely slow file transfer after 2.3 update?

OK, very weird. Writing data to and from the B3 over ethernet is fine. Copying data from the B3 over wi-fi is fine. Writing data to the B3 over wi-fi is pig slow. This is in in Ubuntu and Windows 7 (but both on the same laptop) so I don't know if this is an issue with the wi-fi card in my laptop, t...

I get (the same error as with previous update) "Was unable to connect to server; This is probably due to temporary shutdown of the webserver during upgrade. Please be patient. Will retry communication in 1 seconds..." where "1" is a countdown from 5. The progress bar is on 100%. ...

Short answer: nobody knows.

Long answer: if it hasn't broken already it should last a long time still.

(yeah, not that helpful answer)

Have you measured the transfer rate from B2 to your laptop for example? Do you get 10MBits or similar or more, less?
