Torrent client (Deluge CPU problem)

Post by christofer.goransson »

Hello there!

Just recently bought my Bubba 2 and I'm really happy with it so far. I just had one problem, the default torrent client aren't allowed at my favorite tracker. So I decided to try Deluge (running deluged and deluge-web), but the problem I have now is that it seems to take up alot of CPU. Even at just one torrent it's up at 50-80% and the server becomes really slow and unresponsive. So I'm wondering, is there anyone else here using Deluge and might know what the problem could be (I have version 1.3.0 RC1)? If not, what torrent client would you recommend me using instead?

Code: Select all

Cpu(s): 70.6%us, 9.9%sy, 0.0%ni, 10.5%id, 1.0%wa, 0.3%hi, 7.7%si, 0.0%st
Mem: 255804k total, 252904k used, 2900k free, 2896k buffers
Swap: 1156672k total, 38900k used, 1117772k free, 148936k cached

PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
 4267 root 20 0 28636 16m 2148 R 54.3 6.5 258:01.88 deluge-web
 4285 root 20 0 76524 27m 4512 S 31.1 11.1 236:18.04 deluged

Thanks in advance

/Christofer

I've been thinking of switching to deluge but haven't manged to solve all the dependencies. My plan was to only install deluged on my Bubba|2 and the non web gui on my laptop. This would at least remove the seemingly resource hungry deluge-web.

If you could give me some guidance how to install it I'd be happy to try it out and report my findings.
