Hi!
A few years ago(9) this thread successfully helped me with the installing of Transmission.
Haven’t used Transmission for a long time and can’t tell if things are outdated or not.

Sorry, noticed that the link in the thread is outdated.
Here is a updated link to the wiki that Johannes refers to.

I gather you are still running the original `Squeeze` based Bubba OS?

Beware that Squeeze is no longer listed as a supported platform and because of that you need to change your Debian sources list to reference backports. I currently don't have a direct reference to the original content that was in there, but you should go into /etc/apt and within each of the files in there change every reference you find for

http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian squeeze

to become

http://ftp.nl.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports

Hello,

Because my account was accidentally deleted, my first post disappeared. This topic started because I had problem installing transmission on B3 from fresh start by ssh.
Links posted by Harry worked and now transmission is running. Thank You.

Gordon, sorry but I'm new at linux. I will write you what I did: I installed new disk to B3 and powered it up with original Excito pendrive, holding power button. After disk was formatted I updated software from web menu.
I don't know how to change Debian sources. Is there any guide about it?

Thank You guys for Your help.

Right,

I still had an archived version of the Excito pendrive content so I took a peek and it is in fact pretty simple to add backports (that's the Debian archive for unsupported old products) to your package manager. Just enter the following command inside the ssh shell:

Code: Select all

echo "deb http://ftp.se.debian.org/debian-backports squeeze-backports main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/backports.list
Note: this link is for a localized server for Sweden. If you live somewhere else it is recommended that you replace .se. with your own country code. This also applies to the content of the file /etc/apt/sources.list
