ZFS install?

Post by stasheck »

Hi,
Is it possible to install Arch using ZFS on B3? I want to setup one for remote ZFS sync.

I would not recommend to do that, given the low amount of RAM available.

In theory, yes. Since zfs is not part of the kernel you would however need to run your system from initramfs to be able to load the third party module. That I would say will be a pretty bad idea on the B3 given that it has only 512MiB of RAM. You might however be able to run the system from a regular ext4 partition and use zfs on a separate data partition.
