Still can't use serial connection to login to my Bubba 2 every time.
Eg. at this moment I just boor my Arch linux desktop system and try to open the serial console with:
Code: Select all
xterm -e screen -h 5000 /dev/ttyUSB0 115200
I get the screen window in a xterm window and the blinking cursor but nothing else.
I'm trying to hit Enter key to get the login prompt but nothing happen.
Then I close this screen session with 'C-a \' and try to use minicom in another xterm window. Minicom can connect to Bubba 2; in the status line I have:
CTRL-A Z for help | 115200 8N1 | NOR | Minicom 2.7 | VT102 | Offline | ttyUSB0
but there I can't login to my Bubba 2 because I haven't the login prompt out there. I'm trying to get login prompt with hitting the Enter key but nothing happen.
What can cause this problem?
However, I can to ssh into my Bubba 2.
If I want, I could reboot from there Bubba 2, and then can I use serial connection to login to my Bubba. Why?
I think I found the solution. I did followings on my Bubba 2 on which I have running Debian GNU/Linux Jessie:
Code: Select all
systemctl start getty@ttyS0.service
systemctl status serial-getty@ttyS0.service
systemctl enable serial-getty@ttyS0.service
Furthermore, when the connection is established, in xterm window I just run command:
and get resized the width and hight of the screen window.
As regards the use minicom, I must to setup in minicom the Hardware Flowcontrol to No.
Actually, I found a working minicom setup that I copy into /etc/minirc.dfl:
Code: Select all
pu port /dev/ttyUSB0
pu baudrate 115200
pu bits 8
pu parity N
pu stopbits 1
pu minit
pu rtscts No
so now I can get the login prompt in minicom.
